WORKSHOPS AND MORE

These are a few of the workshops I've offered for poets at all stages of their practice. Each one can be adapted for large or small groups, half-day, day-long or multi-session formats.

I'm also happy to tailor a workshop or consultation to the interests of your group, or to talk with you about poems, process, or other aspects of making a life in poetry.

Concrete & River: A Poetry Workshop

What takes us from first thoughts to first lines, from early inklings to full poems? In this workshop we consider what engages us in a poem and what brings it to life, both as we read and as we write. Each session includes group feedback on draft poems written in response to the week's prompt.

This workshop is for anyone interested in reading and writing poetry. All levels of experience are welcome; no specialized knowledge is required.

Moving Water: Writing and Revising Poetry

In this workshop you will generate and regenerate poems through reading and discussion of the energy and forms poems take, with lots of in-the-moment writing practice. Some previous experience in writing poetry is beneficial but no specialized knowledge is required.

Domestic Wild: Meeting Poetry Where It Lives

This workshop invites participants to read and write across the borderlands of what’s familiar, named, and known, into the mystery present in all we encounter. Hybrid and collaborative in approach, this workshop is appropriate for practicing poets and practitioners working in any discipline for whom language, mystery, and wilderness are of interest.
